TRAMS ON RACE DAYS.

Inconvenience Caused to Regular Users.

The abuse by racegoers of the tram service placed at the disposal of regular passengers was commented on at a meeting last night of the Upper Riccarton Burgesses’ Association. It was pointed out that racegoers pressed on to the trams provided for regular users, and caused great inconvenience to everyone concerned.

The suggestion was madfe to Mr G. T. Thurston, a member of the Tramway Board, who was present, that regular users be issued with some sort of identification tickets, or concession cards, so that racegoers could be charged the same fare as that demanded on the race trams.
