Candidates in Action at Addington. The top-dressing of the track at Addington has been completed, but the footing next to the inside rails is soft, and trainers this morning elected to work their horses about two sulky widths from the inside‘rail. The best effort of the series was provided by Finnebrogue (in saddle). Racketeer, Chechacho, Gold Country and Blandford. The distance was a mile and a half. Finnebrogue began quickly and made the pace for the first mile to Racketeer, Chechahco and Gold Country. Here Finnebrogue was pulled up. Blandford, who had joined the party at the four-furlong post, took the lead, but Gold Country then ran up to him, and when the straight was reached Gold Country, Racketeer and Chechahco were almost on terms, having headed Blandford. In the run home, Gold Country, Racketeer and Chechahco kept together and crossed the line two lengths in front of Blandford.
