SHORTER HOURS.
Councillor Armstrong to Raise Issue. Business for the first City Council meeting this year, to be held on January 28, will include consideration of a notice of motion from Councillor A. E. Armstrong urging a shorter working week for council employees. Councillor Armstrong’s notice is as follows:—“With the object of distributing the useful and necessary work among a greater number of employees, this council decides to inaugurate a shorter working week for all regular employees under its jurisdiction.”
