—.— Holiday Tournaments Conclude. FINAL ROUNDS PLAYED. The concluding rounds in the bowling tournaments on the Canterbury and Linwood greens were played yesterday in fine weather. The competitions were separate from each other, and were for rinks, twenty-four of whom entered for the tournament on the Canterbury green and eighteen at Linwood. The fifth round in each case was played in the morning and the finals in the afternoon. The tournaments were decided on the number of games won by each rink. In the tournament on the Canterbury green a Cashmere Club rink, consisting of Laver, Anderson, Dobbs and Christie (skip), won all five games and were declared the winners. In the playoff for second place Canterbury (Elson, Piper, Raphael, Haworth) gained the 1 The Linwood tournament, which was under the charge of Mr J. Petrie, chairman of the club’s Match Committee, was won by an Edgeware Club rink comprising Kennedy, Speirs, Ives and Gagliardi (skip), who beat Linwood (Hooker, Crombie, Elliott, Kearney) in the final. Both had had five wins to their credit. The prizes were later presented by the president of the Linwood Club (Mr D. Dickson).
