OKAINS BAY INSTITUTE.
The December meeting of the Okalns Bay Women’s Institute was held recently, Miss Marshall presiding over a fair attendance. Mrs Bain, delegate to the half-yearly meeting of the North Canterbury Federation, gave a detailed report on proceedings. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Appreciation of the effort of Mrs Reg Mason and Miss Marshall at the recent Women s Institute competitions at the niivauchcii? show was expressed by Mrs Bain on behalf of the members. The monthly competition was for six decorated Mrs Reg Mason being first and Mrs Bain second. A special competition for tlie best Christmas gift costing Is was won bv Miss Mary Moore, with Mrs Bam second. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames W. Corrigall and l. Haines.
