Navy Gives Up Hunt for Ulm. LONELY ISLANDS VISITED. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received December 11, 10.30 a.m.) HONOLULU, December 10. The United States navy has abandoned the search for Ulm. The army has not stated whether its planes will continue to hunt or cease operations. Rear-Admiral H. E. Yarnell, Commander of the Naval Base, yesterday ordered the aerial search with naval planes for Messrs C. T. P. Ulm, G. Littlejohn and J. Skilling to cease. Three destroyers are in the new area beyond 250 miles eastward. They will return on Wednesday. Three coastguard vessels are still to the north-westward, checking uninhabited rocks, reefs and islands. Eight submarines and their mothership, the Beaver, are manoeuvring off Maui Island for trace of the lost flyers.
