LOAN FOR AUSTRIA.
Britain Guarantees Large Portion. British Official Wireless. (Received December 11, 2.30 p.m.) RUGBY, December 10. Replying to a Parliamentary question, the Financial Secretary of the Treasury, after stating that the negotiations for raising an internationally guaranteed conversion loan for Austria had the full approval of the British Government, added that the guarantee given by the British Government, namely, 24* per cent of all the issues, was the same as that given in the old loan which w’as being converted, and in view of the reduction in Austria’s burden it was evident that the risk of the guarantee becoming operative would be very greatly reduced.
