At a meeting: of the New Brighton Beach and Beauty Carnival Committee he d last night, it was decided that no gala be held this year in view of he fact that the Municipal Band has been granted an extension of the time for its carnival and will now only finish one day before it was proposed to open the gain. It was decided to hold a meeting early in the New Year to take steps to have the committee incorporated on tiie lines of the Caroline Bay Association.
The Mayor of New Brighton (Mr E. A. M. Leaver) presided. The chairman said that some members of the committee considered that as the New Brighton Municipal Band had bee n granted permission to carry on with its gala until January 11 it would be difficult to carry on successfully from that date.
