Tributes are seldom paid to the Public Works Department, but SquadronLeader J. L. Findlay j'esterdav remarked that the Department had shown foresight in importing from Australia the steel bars, to be used in reinforcing the concrete walls and foundations of the new hangar at Wigram, before the contract was let. He explained that jobs of this type were usually held up after the contract had been let owing to lack of essential materials.
