OBITUARY.
Miss M. O. Stoddart
'The death occurred this morning of Miss Margaret O. Stoddart, one of New Zealand's best-known artists. Miss Stoddart was born at Diamond Harbour and educated in Edinburgh. On returning to New Zealand she studied at the Christchurch School of Art, later proceeding to England, where she was a pupil of Mr Norman Carstin. She studied also under Charles Lasar and Louis Grier. Later she travelled extensively*, visiting Greece and other parts of the Continent, and the South Sea Islands. She exhibited for a number of years at the Paris Salon and the Royal Academy, and her work was well known at exhibitions in Christchurch r.nd other New Zealand centres.
