AGREEMENT REACHED.
Air Mail Route Over Italy Opened. LONDON, December 8. It is announced from Rome that an Anglo-Italian agreement has been reached enabling Imperial Airways, Ltd., to use Italian territory. The agreement advises the British Government to use Italian territory for alternate routes, either Marseilles-Rome or Marseilles-Naples to Athens. It is expected that the service will open in the spring, but a few difficulties with the French Government regarding flying across France must be cleared up. The Rome correspondent of the British AJ nited Press says that the air agreement grants Italy important rights. In return for the concession Italy is permitted to institute a RomeLondon air service next spring and is permitted to land her machines at various points in the British dominions, including Gibraltar and Malta, to which no British air services operate at present.
