INTERNATIONAL FORCE.
Britain Sending Strong Contingent to Saar. British Official Wireless. (Received December 10, 12.40 am.) RUGBY, December 9. Major-General Temperley, British military representative to the League is still engaged in discussions with members of the Sarr Governing Commission and with the League Council’s Saar 4 Committee of three, re garding the details, size and composition of the proposed international force in the Saar. No direct invitations have yet been issued to the participating Powers, but the British Government has privately approached certain governments in the matter. In addition to the Italian Government, which has already agreed to co-operate, it is understood that the Netherlands Government has also agreed, while Switzerland declined the invitation. Britain is expected to supply two battalions, the strongest .contingent in the force, which will be under the supreme command of a British officer. The largest contingent from any other Power is expected to be one battalion.
