One of the new trolley buses which the Christchurch Tramway Board will soon place in operation on the Richmond line was given a trial run over the route at eight o’clock yesterday morning. The trial, which was made for the purpose of testing the overhead gear, was stated to be satisfactory in '/every respect. Arrangements are being made for the erection of a suitable memorial to the late Mr F. Z. D. Ferriman. at Ashburton. Subscription lists have been opened and local bodies in the district are co-operating in view of the long service given by Mr Ferriman in the interests of local body government. It is expected that a generous response will be made to the appeal.
