The Brian Boru dredge return last week was lOoz 4dwt for 84 hours’ work, and 10,500 cubic wards. The short time worked was owing to bush fires burning the head line aerial, and also causing fire around the transformer. The Talisman Dubbo mine manager's report for the fortnight ended December 1 states:— Talisman No. 1 Level.—Drive south advanced 17ft, total 450 ft. The lode from 445 ft to 450 ft is 30in wide, of which IBin is saved, the balance being clay and rubble. Stoping—The ore broken in the stopes came from 200 ft south to 300 ft south. About 50 per cent of the lode broken out was discarded I for filling purposes, and only clean I selected quartz of good value sent to | the battery. The ventilation of these • stopes has been greatly improved since j the connection has been made with the | older northern stopes.
