NGARUHOE ACTIVE.
Earth Tremors, Rumblings and Flashes of Flame. TWO VENTS AFFECTED. (Special to the ‘Star.’ ) AUCKLAND, This Day. During the past few days Ngaruhoe has been sending forth huge billowing volumes of smoke, accompanied at night by Mashes of flame, earth tremors and rumblings. The activity has been mainly from one vent and occasionally from a -second, but the third was unaffected. To-day the mountain is still belching smoke and there have been falls of light pumice and dust. There was similar, but greater, activity of Ngaruhce in 1926.
