ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.
The Christchurch Orchestral Society’s final concert of the season will be given in the Radiant Hall on Wednesday next. The full orchestra of 70 will appear under the baton of the society’s guest conductor for this concert, Mr FI. G. Claysher, and its numbers will include: Overture, *• Fingal’s Cave” (Mendels-sohn-Bnrt holdv > : Symphony No. 5 in E Minor. “From the New World, Op. 95” (Dvorak): "Suite do Ballet” ( Lan don Ronald) to be performed in its entirety; also a popular bracket. “Sea Piece” GlTacdowell), “ Vnlwe Trieste” (Sibelius), “Grand March from Carmen” (Bizet) (special requests having been received for these items), and “ Marche Hongroise ” from " Damnation of Faust” (Berlioz). An item of special interest will be the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 64 (MendelssohnBartholdy), to be played by Miss Lily Robertson. The vocalist will he Mr Ernest Rogers (tenor), whose numbers will include the aria, “ O Vision Entrancing” (Goring-Thomas) and song, “The Last Watch” (Pinsutj). The accompanist will be Miss Bessie Pollard. The box plan will be at the D.I.C. from 9 a.in. on Monday.
