Prisoner Confesses to Four Murders. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received December 8, 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, December 7. Gendarmes arrested near Marseilles a thirty-eight-year-old Italian, who has confessed to four murders in the Var. He stated that the proceeds cf the robberies were only about two guineas and an old silver watch. A Moscow message on December 4 said that the wild and mountainous district of the Upper Var had been terI rorised by a murderer who in four : I months had committed four murders. • The villagers were barricading their I homes at night.
