ROUND THE DANCES.
To-night the Caledonian Select Assembly will hold a dance in the Caledonian Hall. Included in the programme will be old and new dances, a lucky spot and a cash miniature Monte Carlo. Supper will be provided free. The music will be arranged by George Bradford. On Thursday evening, December 20, a Christmas Carnival Dance will be held in the Ambulance Hall in aid of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Old and new dances will be featured. There will be numerous novelties, including lucky numbers for the Christmas tree and the lucky spot prize (lady) will be a Christmas hamper. The Evans-Campbell Band has been engaged to provide the music, and Mr E. P. Chappell will be in charge of the floor. A sixpenny hard-up old-time ball will be held on Monday at the Alexandra Hall in connection with the sixteenth anniversary celebrations of the assembly. Prizes will be given for the most hard-up dress. The Select Old-time Dance will hold their anniversary ball on Monday in the Caledonian Hall. Balloons, streamers, novelties, snowballs and spotlight waltzes will add to the gaiety of the evening. Christmas cakes will be the lucky spot and Monte Carlo prizes. A miniature Monte Carlo will be commenced and the final decided on Christmas Eve. the prize being two Christmas Iranis. The Fvans-Campbell Band will be augmented for this occasion. Tee cream will be part of the special catering. The weekly dance will be held on Tuesday evening in Chas. Burkett’s gymnasium, when F. Smith s hand will supply the music. Bob Bradford and bis band will supply the music for the cabaret dance at Frascati to-night. On Monday, at Frascati, the HerdmanFisk dance band will si*ppl>' the music. The fourth heat of the foxtrot competition for the two guinea prize will be decided. To-night the lanthe Dance Club will hold a flannel dance in the .Tellicoe Hall. Seagrass chairs will be the prizes for the special ’Monte, Carlo at the Scottish Society's Hall to-night. Old and new dances will be featured. Fxbibitlon dances bv Mr and Mrs S. Hollis will be given at the gala dance in the Gray Raven at Kaiapoi next Saturday. Sharkers Orchestra will supply the music for a dance in the Selwyn Street Hall to-night. The New Brighton Amateur Cycling Club will bold another dance on Tuesday next. December 11, at the Pier Hall, New Brighton. There will be many novelties. Chappell's orchestra has been engaged.
