DRAMA AND FIGHT FILM
“ Crime Doctor ” and World Title Bout. “ The Crime Doctor,” an excellent detective story, and the official film of the Baer-C'arnera world heavy-weight championship fight, are featured at the Majestic Theatre to-day. Otto Kruger, Karen Morley and Nils Asther are the featured players in “ The Crime Doctor.” Neither a gangster nor a mystery story, this film adopts the novel system of taking the audience into complete confidence. A murder is depicted from its inception in the killer’s mind to the final dramatic solution of the case, and as the story unfolds not a step is withheld from the audience. The authorities working on the crime are in the dark, and the development of the plot becomes a game of “ hot and cold,” with suspense reaching a tense pitch as the hunt progresses. Kruger enacts the role of a great detective who tries how it feels to be a criminal, and Karen Morley plays the man hunter’s beautiful wife. What is probably the most complete picture of a big boxing match ever brought to this country, is offered at the Majestic. It deals with the recent contest, in which Max Baer (California) wrested the world’s professional heavy-w-eight title from Primo Camera, - the giant Italian. Each of the rounds until the eleventh, when the referee gave the decision to Baer to save the former champion from further punishment, is shown in detail, and much of the fighting is also filmed in slow motion. Box plans at the D.I.C.
