LIN WOOD SHOW.

Larger Entries of Summer Flowers. A fair and flower show in aid of the funds of the Linwood School was held yesterday afternoon and evening. The fair will be continued this afternoon, when the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M. will officially open it. There were large: entries for the flower show, and all the exhibits were in good condition and well displayed. Good variety and quality were shown in the exhibition of children's school work. The following committee was responsible for the successful organisation of the fair and flower show:—Chairman, Mr C. R. N. Mackie: organiser, Mr W. Rodger; secretary, Mr A. K. Diehl; assistant secretary, Mr W. Williams; treasurer, Mr J. Maxwell. The stallholders and officials were:— Afternoon tea. Misses K. M. Webster, B. Be Compte, M. O. Gregg, H. Wise and N. Goodall and B. J. Wise; Christmas-tree and bran tub, Mesdames G. Bund. W. Jones and J. Flewellen; sweets, Mrs W. F. Crum and Misses V. M. Jones, A. Bogan and C. Nesbit; shooting gallery, Mr R. J. Hartley; display of school work, Miss A. Raven and Mr H. Findlay; entertainments, Messrs H. Findlay, A. E. Diehl and S. J. M’llroy; flower show, Messrs C. R. N. Mackie and W. Grigg.
