Gatherings Held in Town and Country. COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATED. To celebrate the coniing-of-age or their only daughter, Gwendolyn, Mr and Mrs P. J. Dulieu entertained a number of friends in the Greenpark Memorial Hall. An enjoyable time was spent in games, competitions and dancing. The winners of the Monte Carlo dances were Miss N. Cocks and Mr G. Jones and Mr and Miss Greaves. Competitions were won by Miss Louis Dulieu and Messrs E. Watkins and W. Kimber. Musical items were given by Miss Greaves, Messrs Douglas and Graham Suckling. Messrs L. Dulieu, L. Bush and F. Fiecken were M.C.’s. An enjoyable gift afternoon was held recently at Coleridge Street, Waltham, m honour of Miss Dorothy Clarkson, whose marriage will take place this month, the joint hostesses being Mrs S. H. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at Glasnafeid, Kimberley, the home of Mr and Mrs A. A. Stott, when the children attending the Kimberley Sunday School, accompanied by their parents and friends, assembled to honour Miss Janie Reveley, whose mar-.i-ige will take place next week. The afternoon's programme included competitions, games, musical items and community singing. The winners of the competitions were Misses B. Hopkins. J. Reveley and R. Eaves. The management committee of the Addington Tennis Club has every reason to congratulate itself upon the success of the mock banquet and dance which was held in the club pavilion on Saturday evening. The lighting effects reflected through a huge paper tennis racquet suspended from the ceiling and the bowls of colourful ranunculi which adorned the tables made a delightful setting for the occasion, which was considered to be one of the most successful gatherings yet held by the club. During the banquet songs were given by Mrs E. W. Arnold and Master Warwick Humphreys and stories without •words by Mr F. Brownie.
