CONFERENCE AT Y.W.C.A.
A pleasant afternoon was spent in the garden at the Young Women’s Christian Association on Monday, when members of the board, committees and staff met in an informal conference. Mrs F. M. Warren, president of the association, welcomed several new committee members and called on chairmen of committees to give a brief outline of the work done in their departments. Mrs M. M'Leod spoke on behalf of the World Fellowship Committee, and explained that the work was to foster a friendly interest in the people of other countries. This •vas done through correspondence and in helping to support secretaries in other parts of the world. Mrs B. 11. Gilmour gave a short summary of the work done by the Senior Activities Committee, Miss E. Bachelor spoke for the Girls' Department Committee, and Mrs R. A. Ambridge outlined the activities of the Mothers’ Club. Miss E. Gill explained the working of the hostel, and Mrs B. H. Gilmour spoke of the excellent work being done by the Lyttelton Y.W.C.A. Those present were invited to attend the open nights being held by Girl Citizens this week, and the “ At Home ” held by the senior girls on December 19. A discussion followed on pUns for next year.
