Annual Meeting Held at New Brighton.

The annual meeting of members of the New Brighton Methodist Church was held in the church last evening, the Rev S. Bailey presiding over a good attendance of members. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Society stewards, Messrs J. A. Cooke, R. Pepperell, J. Buxton, E. Bendall, R. E. Holloway, J. R. Scott. C. F. Henry and H. Hale; home missions secretary. Miss F. Palmer; foreign missions secretary, Mr F. Weyman: Methodist Times agent, Mr K. Bendall; reporter, Mr A. E. Holloway: sacramental stewards, Mrs F. Sincock, Misses A. Baliantyne and I. Palmer: representatives to quarterly meeting, Mesdames H. Hall, G. Ellis and M. Fraser; South Brighton stewards, airs J. Cain and air R. Buxton; reporter to church quarterly magazine, air A. Weyman. A vote of appreciation was passed to two of the retiring society stewards, aiessrs J. Campbell and J. Roberts. As a result of a vote being taken, it was decided to make no alteration in the time of the Sunday evening services during the summer months. It was also decided to hold a special service in the church on Christinas Day. when an offering will be taken on behalf of the orphanage at Papanui. It was agreed also to hold i watehnight service, commencing at 11. p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Harvest festival services were set down for Sunday, March 10.
