COMPENSATION CLAIM.
An adjournment till 10.15 a.m. on Monday was taken yesterday afternoon in the Supreme Court action in which A. M. Carpenter, a farmer, and his wife, claimed £331 19s 5d from the Minister of Public Works, alleging that some of his farm property at Fer.iside had been spoiled by river protection work pn the banks of the Ashley. Claimant, in evidence, said that the future of his farm looked black and was causing him the gravest concern. His land was far less secure from flood now.
