Mrs C. G. Sommers’s Pupils Give Performance. The women of Canterbury are well aware of the splendid work done by the Home Service Association in solving many housekeeping problems and in obtaining work for women and girls, as well as taking a personal interest in their welfare. This work, however, needs a financial backing, and to aid the association’s funds, Mrs C. G. Sommers and her pupils gave a vocal recital last evening at St John’s schoolroom. Latimer Square. Miss Margaret Ormerod: song, “T 1 Balen” (Verdi), Mr John North : song cycle, “Frauenliebe und Leben" (R. Schumann >, “Since ,J First Beheld Him,” -Humility,” "Tt Cannot Re.” "The Ring.” "Rear Roving Sisters,” “Sweetest Friend,” “Cradle Song,” “Rost Happiness”; violin solo. “l argo" CVeracini Corli). Miss Joan Ormerod: song, "The Roadside Fire” (V.
