Convent School Pupils’ Concert. The annual concert of the Lyttelton Convent School has always proved a big attraction and last evening's entertainment at the Harbour Light Theatre excelled expectations. There was a large attendance. The “Doll's House Party,” an operetta, gave scope for many bright and pretty scenes. Every kind of doll was represented and the many-coloured dresses provided a bright scene. There were period dolls, old-fashioned dolls, colleens, wax dolls, Dutch dolls and dolls representing other nations, the gentlemen dolls in dress suits being not the least attractive. The set dances were pleasingly executed. Much patience must have been required to train the tiny tots in such difficult parts, but those responsible were well rewarded by the hearty reception accorded the items. Xoeline Fogarty, Patricia Quinn, Gladys Miller; Men, F. Boyd. Barry Ilolliss. Alfred Christmas. Dick Abbott. Jack Vincent. Lester Vincent and Brian M’Carthy: buttons, Hugh Small; Japanese dolls, Felice Rooney, Mary Manning, Margaret Christmas. Tsobel Hollis, Mary MacDonald; Fanner Giles. Brian Magill; Poachers. W. Currie. L. Sylvester: Coachman. J. Boyd: Chef. J. M’Carthy. The Convent Pupils’ Orchestra ''under the leadership of Mrs J. H. Donahoe. L.T.C.L.). provided the music. The orchestra consisted of the following: Violins, H. M’Donald (A.T.C.LJ, J. Partridge. J. Olson, J. Dowell. L. Beaumont, Florence Ramon, Jessie Gilrav; 'cello. Freda Moir (L.T.C.L.), cornet, W. Jeffries. Senior Free Places. The following pupils of the Lyttelton District High School gained a senior free place by recommendation, contingent upon progress and attendance being satisfactory: Lesbert Beaumont. Margaret Duckworth, Gwendoline Duff, Clarerfce Fowles, Violet Gardner, Alfred Large, Ross Louttit, Victor Macnaughton. Leslie Merrifield, Leslie Sales and Kenneth Wilson. Personal. The Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr W. T. Lester) and the Town Clerk (Mr I*. Hobbs) were the guests of Captain Cosmo Graham, of H.M.S. Diomede, at luncheon yesterday. Sergeant J. W. M'Holm left last evening for Wellington.
