“INDECENT HASTE.”
Labour Criticism of N.S.W. Company Legislation. United Press Assn.—By Electrl Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, November 6. The New South Wales Legislative Council to-night passed the Companies Receiver and Manager Bill. dealing with the administration of the M’Arthur Companies, the Labour grojip offering no opposition. However. Mr 1. Martin, a Labour member, criticised the Government's 'indecent haste” in rushing the measure through. He suggested that there must be something sinister behind the Attorney General’s action of last week when appealing personally to the leader of the Opposition (Mr .1. T. Lang) to offer no opposition. Apparently financial interests behind the Government were anxious to suppress the- M'Arthur group. Mr Martin added that he was quite sure that there would have been plenty of monev available as the price of Labour’s silence in connection with this measure. The A ttorney-General (Mr If. E. Manning) hotly repudiated thi* suggestion.
