Answering a Parliamentary question regarding the measures taken to prevent the sale of armaments indiscrimin- J atelv to foreign countries in the interests of money-making, Mr Mac Do- ! aid said that the machinery of export licensing ensured effective control over the supply to foreign countries of arms ! from the United Kingdom. No sale could be made by an armaments firm except to an approved destination and on a grant of export licenses by the | Board of Trade.
