THE ROYAL WEDDING.
London Expects a Gay “ Little Season.”
Princess Marina of Greece has received the most cordial of greetings on her engagement from all classes in this country, but those who cater for our social life should offer her a special tribute, says a writer in “ The Queen.” i The impending marriage means that | London will have the gayest “ Little Season ” that it has ever enjoyed. Hotel bookings are far greater than ever they have been before at this time of year, and many people are hastening back to London who would normally have remained longer abroad. Autumn dress shows have been lmrried forward, and already dressmakers and milliners are more than busy. Great numbers of foreigners are on the way here for the wedding, and restaurants can look forward to a very prosperous time. For the time being. ! London has left Paris and the Con- i tinent away behind, and the season between .now and Christmas seems I likely to be the most brilliant of the 1 kind ever known. For this, we shall | have largely to allot our thanks to the i engagement of Princess Marina and ! Prince George.
