WEDDINGS.
Ceremony Performed at Wellington. FOGARTY—GOODSON. At the Sacred Heart Basilica. Wellington. the wedding took place of Mary Eileen, daughter of Mrs M. J Goodson. Kelburn, Wellington, and the late Mr Goodson, of Taranaki, to Paul Joseph, son of Mr and Mrs M. J Fogarty, Greymotith. The ceremony was performed by Father A. J. Cullen, S.M. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr J. N. Goodson. wore a beautiful frock of ivory crepe satin made on slim fitting lines, with the flounces at the back of the skirt falling into a long train. Her veil of exquisite Limerick lace was lent by the bridegroom’s mother, and she carried a bouquet of cream roses. There were four bridesmaids. Misses Allison and Myra Goodson, sisters of the bride, and Joan and Patricia Murphy, cousins of the bridegroom. They wore frocks of pink floral Swiss muslin and large black picture hats banded with pink velvet. Their bouquets were of pink sweet peas. The best man was Mr Desmond Fogarty, and the groomsmen were Mr M. Goodson, Dr F. Sligo and Dr P. Kennedy. A reception was held later at the Royal Oak Hotel, where Mrs Goodson received the guests wearing a smart frock of black lace and a wide black straw hat. The bridegroom’s mother wore beige georgette and lace, the cape being edged with navy satin, and her wide navy hat was trimmed with beige lace. When Dr and Mrs Fogarty left on their wedding trip the bride was wearing a suit of double-backed navy satin and a navy blue hat. Their home will be in Blenheim, where Dr Fogarty has entered into partnership with Dr J. F. Bennett. MACKIE—STAING*ER. On Tuesday, at the residence of the Misses Stainger, Seiwyn, the wedding took place of Miss Elizabeth Jane Stainger, eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Peter Stainger and Mr John Marshall Mackie, of Dunsandel. The Rev R. R. Adair performed the ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Eva Stainger, and Mr D. Mackie, of Templeton, was the best man. Mr W. P. Stainger gave his sister away. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at afternoon tea by the bride's sisters. Mr and Mrs Mackie will reside at Dunsandel.
