INCREASING HER ARMY.

Germany’s Reported Breach of Treaty.. United Frees Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, October 1. The Paris correspondent of the “ Daiiy Express ” says that the French Government has received informatior from its agents in Germany that the Reichswehr I the German Army) is te be increased from its treaty strength o; 100.000 to 300.000. Thus a flagran' breach of the Versailles Treaty is beinj committed. The reports state that 200,000 picked youths will serve for one vear and then will give way to a fresh batch. They will be paid 60 marks a month and when they leave will receive a bonus of 150 marks and a certificate of fitness for civil employment. At the end of the first six months the recruits will be informed whether they will be suitable as officers, in which case the year in the Reichswehr will count as part of the university course Already there is a rush of students to enrol.
