♦ ' The annual meeting of the Mount i j Herbert Sports Club was held on Satur- j day evening in the Allandale Hall. The j president (Mr W. A. Carpenter) preshl- j i hers. The honorary 'secretary 5 (Mr'”.l. ' Manhire) read the report and balanoe- ! sheet, which showed a successful past year, ending with a credit balance of £l6 16S 9d. The report and balancesheet were adopted. Mr .1. Steele was thanked for his gift of a bat for the best batting average. The following officers were elected:—Patron. Mr Orton Bradley: president. Mr R.o(jt. Allan: vice-presidents, Messrs W. A. Carpenter. IT. Barn ford. Ray Anderson. Orton Gobble. -J. Stee»e, P. T. [Packer, J. F. Tnpiey. M. Foley. W. Witte and A. G. Webster; club captain, Mr W. llnr- 1 ris: committee, Messrs 15. Allan, Ft. ! Colombus, .1 A Gellety. Mr Gilpin. I L. Blatchford and A. K. K.tdeiiffe. The j tennis players are to select their own i officers and committee. Mr J. Manhire ! was re-elected honorary secretary and i treasurer. Tlie opening day was fixed for Saturday next.
