BEACH RACING.

Canterbury Club’s Meeting at North Brighton. The Canterbury Auto-cycle Club held their first beach race meeting at North Beach to-day. The cour.se was in splendid order, but a strong wind slowed the riders down. Events were keenly contested and a feature of the racing was the number of novice riders. The first two races were over a mile course, and the final event over a two-mile course. The following wiere the results:— Eight-mile Novice Handicap—S. Meechen (20sec) 1, A. Cooper (15«ec) 2, -W.
