HATS IN THE WIND.

Women Racegoers Air Spring Suits. SECOND DAY AT TROTS. A playful wind, that blew in unexpected gusts round corners of the grandstands, just prevented today’s weather from being perfect for racegoers at the Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting at Addington. Women clutched their hats, which threatened to justify their fly-away air, and pulled their fur necklets closer round their shoulders. The beautifully warm weather made coats unnecessary, and tailored suits and furs were the order of the day. Every woman had been seized by the same inspiration, and all rescued their necklets from the obscurity of drawers or cupboards, to twine them in a variety of becoming ways round their shoulders.

With enthusiasm whetted by previous meetings, a cheery crowd attended and thoroughly enjoyed an excellent day’s sport.
