DANCE AT HALSWELL.

Spinsters Organise a Very Successful Ball. The Halswell Public Hall was filled to capacity when the spinsters of the district entertained the bachelors ana their friends at their annual ball. The hall was artistically decorated with coloured streamers. The Herdman-FisK orchestra (Christchurch) supplied the music and the supper extras were played by Mr W. Koeslar. Winners of novelty dances were Miss Martin and Mr Laffey and Miss Munro and Mr Roeslar. The organising committee comprised Mesdames A. D. M’Connell, M’Phail and Wilhelm, Misses Winnie Hann, Fanny Wilhelm. Hazel M’Phail and Violet M’Connell (secretary). Among those present were: Mr and Mrs G. Williams, Mr and Mrs W.
