COURSING.
Arrangements for Challenge Stakes. The Christchurch Coursing club held a meeting: at Sookburn on Wednesdav evening. Mr D. Cave presided. A vote of sympathy was accorded the relatives of the late president, Mr IV. J. lomkinson. it was reported that arrangements were well In hand for the Challenge Stake to be run on August !) and 10 at the Sookburn enclosure. Several dogs from Invercargill. Oamaru, Dunedin and Balclutha would be present, and some good coursing should be witnessed. Messrs Muir and Ruddy were congratulated on winning the Australasian 'Waterloo Cup at Oamaru last week. The draw for the meeting to be held to-morow is as follows:—Maiden Stake —Patent leather meets Arethusa, Rady Gil Allan meetw Ayrmont Chimes, Ever Rast meets Scarborough, Arrow Rad meets All Trumps. Post entries for an open stake will be drawn on the ground.
