Market With Jamaica is Opened. FUTURE PROSPECTS. Per Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, July 20. The Rangiotu Co-operative Dairy Company this week sent a consignment of six tons of prime cheese to Wellington for dispatch to Jamaica. This marked the opening up of a new market for its product. If the order proves satisfactory, it is likely that further business will result. N.Z. Exports Show Large Excess. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Tulv 19. Figures of the oversea trade of New Zealand, excluding specie, for the month of June, and the six months ended (excluding specie) and twelve months ended June 30, are as follows, compared with the corresponding periods of 1933 and 1932. In the case of imports the recorded value is given, with the equivalent in New Zealand currency. In the case of exports and the balance the figures are in terms of New Zealand currency. In the official statistics, imports from Australia are recorded in terms of Australian currency and imports from other countries in sterling.

Cargoes. Parcels and Futures. (Received July 20. 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 19. Cargoes.—Sellers are asking 6d up. Parcels are from 4id to 7id up. Futures are, quoted:— London, September, 21s 8d per quarter; December, 235. Liverpool, July, 5s 2Jd per cental: October, 5s 5d to 5s 8d; December, 5s 8 Ad: March, 5s 9Jd. Spot trade is firm and business is better. Australian, ex ship, 26s 9d to 275. Flouv—Firmer. Australian, ex store, 18s to 19s. Oats—Tending higher. Peas and beans—Quietly steady.

New Zealand 80s to S4s, Australian 74s to 76 s. The cheese market is slow. New Zealand, coloured 455, white 48s to 48s 6d; Australian, coloured 445, white 475. MERCHANTS' CABLES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. advise that they have received a cablegram from their London office, dated July 18. 1934, giving tlie following market quotations: Butter—73s. There is a better demand. Cheese—White, 17s od. 4 8s; coloured, 455. The market is steady. W. Weddel and Co.’s Report. LONDON, July 18. Butter—Danish 84s, New Zealand finest 72s to 735, Kangaroos 67s per cwt. There is a better feeling in the market. Cheese —New Zealand white 47s 6d to 48s, coloured 45s per cwt. The market is quiet but steady. Messrs W. Wed del and Co., Ltd., in a cable dated July 19, advise that tlie butter nvirket is much firmer, latest quotations being: New Zealand, finest, 74s to 755. The following cable has been received by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., from Samuel Page and Son, dated July 19:—Butter: Market, rather more niquiry this end of week. Danish, 83s to 86s; finest New Zealand, 72s to 745: finest Australian. unsalted 70s to 745. salted 65s to 68s; g.a.q., 63s to 645. Cheese: Market, rather more inquiry this end of week. Quotations: New Zealand, white 4Ss and coloured 455; Canadian, spot, white 54s to 5Ss, and coloured 52s to 565. The National Mortgage and Agency Co. advise having received the following cable from their principals, Messrs A. J. Mills and Co., Ltd., London: “Butter: Market is steadier.
