Seamen Asked to Handle Oranges. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 20. As oranges are very scarce in Dunedin, the executive of the South Island Fruit and Produce Association has wired as follows to Mr Clark, the Dunedin secretary of the Seamen’s Union, who is in Wellington, and Mr Roberts, secretary of the Alliance of Labour: “ Sickness from want of oranges is rampant in Dunedin. Urge Seamen’s Union for humanity’s sake to load the Monterey and Mariposa shipments at once, thereby retaining public sympathy.”
