MERSEY TUNNEL OPENED YESTERDAY BY THE KING.—The Mersey tunnel, the world’s largest under-water roadway, which was opened by his Majesty the King yesterday. The tunnel, which has cost £8,000,000, is two miles long and 44ft wide, and has taken 2000 workmen eight years to build.
