ENGLAND’S PROBLEM
Has Embarrassment of Talent in Left-Handers.
MORE RAIN ON WICKET. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 19, 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, July 18. The Australian Press Association says that further rain on the Leeds wicket, which last week was under water, ad dsa further interesting prospect to the fourth Test. England, with fifteen players from whom to choose, has an embarrassment of talent in the three lefthanders Verity, Langridge and Hopwood, who may cause the selectors and Wyatt acute perturbation on the morning of the match.
Marylebone announces that Allen feels unfit to play in the fourth Test. H. Sutcliffe is improving, but it is still doubtful if he will be fit for the Test.
The Australians have arrived at Harrogate, and all are reported to be fit. The Leeds wicket had been steadily watered just before heavy rain fell. All the reservable accommodation has been sold.
