“NOT BANKRUPT.”
Finances of Cycling and Axemen’s Centre.
Members of the North Canterbur> Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling and Axemen’s Union present at last night’s meeting appeared to be taken by surprise when Mr G. Mugford asked if it were true that the centre was bankrupt. There were, Mr Mugford said, many rumours going about the town, and he would like to be sure. “ It’s the first I’ve heard of it,” said the chairman, Mr W. J. Walter, in reply to the question. He also informed Mr Mugford that the secretary would submit a statement of the centre’s financial position to the next meeting.
