CITY BESIEGED.
Missionaries in Danger in Chinese Town. LARGE BANDIT FORCE. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 19, 11.30 a.m.) PEKIN, July 18. Despatches reaching the British Legation report that a Communist bandit force has surrounded Fu-ning, in north-west Fu-kien, where a number of British missionaries are stationed. Those inside the beleaguered city are believed to include Dr E. G. FiShe, the Rev. . Conlin belonging to the Church Missionary Society and their wives, and also several Roman Catholic p'riests and nuns. The provincial authorities are taking military action against the Reds.
