Reports and Returns. Per Press Association. lawiob’i Flat Sluicing Company. The secretary of Lawsoh’s Flat Gold Sluicing Company reports tJiat the wash-up for the two weeks erroed July 14 resulted in 330 z 4dwt, of retorted gold from No. 1 face only. During the period no sluicing was done on No. 2 lace because of the carrying out of the work, reported on a fortnight ago, of shortening the tail-race in order to gain ad t tional fall to work the face to advantage. This work has now been completed and sluicing operations were re-started yesterday. In future sluicing operations will take place on the two faces alternately, and the manager is confident that the alterations just completed will result in an improvement in results. Talisman Dubbo Gold Mines, Ltd., report that 271 wet tons, equal to 23 dry tons of ore, were treated at the Golden Dawn battery for an actual return, on 85 per cent extraction, of £123. The mine manager’s report for Talisman Dubbo, Ltd., for the fortnight ending July 1 4, 1934, is as follows: Talisman No. 1 lex-el: Drive south advanced 12ft. total 294 ft south of the main rise. The lode fissure is 4Sin wide, of which 27in on the footwall is clean quartz, the balance on the hanging wall being clayey material of low value. Dare’s Leader: Art intermediate drive south from the i Ise, 3 2ft above the main level, has been advanced a total of 12ft. The lode is lOin wide and the quartz is high grade. Another vein Sin wide of good value is also showing 2ft to the west of Dare's leader. Both veins are being broken out as driving progresses. The drive requires light timbering. Stories: The stope from the main rise to 35ft south varies in width from 9in to 24in.

Stopes: The stope 60ft above the level has been extended from 110 ft to 142 ft south of the main rise. The lode is irregular In width. At 130 ft south 361 n wide consisting of bands of quartz and gravel. A new slope has l>een opened up and broken out from 243 ft to 276 ft south of the'main rise, the width varying from 18in to 42in. The roof at 243 ft is mostly clay of low value.

Dubbo level: The work of erecting new timbers has been completed to 3 75ft north from the entrance to this level. Owing to the wet conditions prevailing and the heavy nature of the ground, it will probably be necessary to renew the old timbers for a further distance of 120 ft to the north.

Dawn of Kopa. The Dawn of Hope Gold Mines report that driving hillward on the hanging wall dropper of the Golden Age Reef has been continued for a further Sft, making a total of 28ft to date. The dropper is about 9in in width, and the ore broken is of good grade and the country encasing It is of a flrat-cla** description. Messrs Sarich and Cropr, trtbuting on this leader, treated a load of dirt and »• parcel of picked stone for a return of 20oz 12dwt of gold. Ooleoada Mia mm. The mine manager of the Golcomta Mines, Ltd., reports: During the week the following work has been carried out: Driving on the reef east and west was continued. We have put the break in the west end. and the reef has tailed off. as was expected. In the east end we have a full face of quartz, and it is well mineralised and looks very promising, the reef being well defined. We will try to reach the hanging wall and follow it, to pick up any droppers that may come in. The reef on the floor of the drive where we crosscutted is over 10ft In width, and it Is hard to determine whether we are on the cap of another roef or the reef is going to make a big blow of quartz under the level. There appears to be two hanging walls each dipping in opposite directions (about 1—1). In the roof of the drive the reef is about sft in width and 6ft below (that is the floor of the drive) the width i» 10ft. if this continues there must be a very strong body of ore underfoot. We will now concentrate on the drive, on the reef east, going towards the mat j slide, and the prospects look most encouraging in this end. The reef I* striking nearly east and west, magnetic bearing. Worksop Bredga. The Worksop Dredge was expected to commence dredging operations yeater- ; das’.
