COMMUNITY SINGING.
Approximately £3OO Already Raised. One of the best community sings of the present series financially was held in the Civic Theatre to-day, when the sum of £56 6s was raised. The amount taken at the door was £2B 7s lid, and sales brought in £lB Is 6d. Donations by radio listeners realised £9 16s 7d. The theatre was again crowded, many children being present/ Mr Alan Brown, song leader, and Mr H. E. Goodland at the piano did their best to make proceedings go with a swing from start to finish, and the audience fully responded. Many valuable articles were promised for next week, including a sack of wheat from the Methven district.
Approximately £3OO has been raised so far towards the Mayor’s Relief Fund.
