TO VISIT N.Z.
English Women’s Cricket Team. WILL PLAY A TEST. 'Special to the " Star.”) WANGANUI, July 18. The English women’s cricket * team which is to tour Australia next summer has accepted an invitation to extend its visit to New Zealand, and it will probably leave Australia toward the end of January. The suggested programme of fixtures in the Dominion includes matches in the four main centres, also Wanganui, and probably Invercargill. One test may be played at Wellington. The visitors, who will be in New Zealand for a month, will pay a visit to Rotorua, and will leave for home at the end of February. The English players are all paying their own expenses to and from Australia, and are willing to .pay their own fares to New Zealand. While in Australia the visitors will be the guests oi the various States, and their travelling expenses will be paid. ! The New Zealand Council is hopeful that each centre visited in the Dominion will make arrangements for i billeting the tourists, and that the public patronage at the various matches will be such as to permit of I the bulk, if not all, of the traveling expenses incurred by the visitors being met out of the gate money.
