Y.M.C.A. DIRECTORS.

Concern Over the Financial Position. The monthly meeting of the Y.M.C.A. board of directors was held last evening, Mr F H. Sandal 1 presiding. A great deal of time was taken in discussing the serious financial position of the association resulting from the comparative failure of the street day. Five sub-committees were set up to go into various ways of approaching the public with a view to impressing upon them the seriousness of the situation. It was agreed that Messrs D. E. Parton and F- H. SandalJ represent the association at a meeting to be held in connection with the Bristol scheme next Tuesday. It was felt that the smaller sum was not due to any lack of organisation, but to the fact that street days bad rot the appeal that they had In the past. It was decided to congratulate Mr L. T. K. Allison on his able organisation of the appeal. Mr T. Evans was appointed chairman of the Physical Cabinet during Mr lleslop’s leave of absence. It was agreed to release Mr A. .T. M'Eldowney for a few days to enable him to represent the Chief Commissioner for Scouts (Dr P. C. Fenwick) at important Scout business in JDanedin. A letter was received from the Council Against War. and it was decided that the association would not affiliate with the council, it being pointed out that the association was already aifiliated with the League of Nations Union. A special Camp Committee was set up, consisting of Messrs F. H. Randall (convener) A. C. Cottrell, J. E. Fleming and T. Evens.
