Decisions of the Canterbury Union. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union met last evening-, Mr A. E. M’Phail presiding. The Banks Peninsula Sub-Union wrote protesting against the proposal to svnd a country team to play Ashburton on August 4. on the ground that the match would interfere with the Delargey Shield matches. It was decided that the providing of a match for Ashbuiton should be left to the Match Committee. A letter from Ashburton said that the sub-ynion would like an Albion or a Mtjrivale side if the country team could n6t he sent.. Saturday's matches are as follows:TtanfuPly Shield match—Hawke’s Bay v. Canterbury, Lancaster Park oval, 2.45 p.m. (touch judges, Messrs E. G. Watkins and A. Smale). Curtain-raisers—Schoolboys under Sst 71b: Merivale v. Albion, Lancaster Park oval. 11.45 a.its., Mr J. E. Maxwell: Linwood v. Sydenham B, Lancaster Park South, 3 1.45 a.m., Mr K, G. Shrimpton: Sydenham A v. Christchurch. Lancaster Park west, 3 1.45 a.m., Mr H. M. Sparrow. Third Grade (A section): I. in wood v. H. Lancaster Park oval. 1 p.m.. Mr It. C. Spooner (touch judges, Messrs J. Kirkpatrick and V. A. Beaumont). Peninsula Competition. By defeating United Bays by 10 points to 4, the Akaroa Itugby team’ has won the Peninsula Banner competition for the first time for many years. The position of the teams is as follows: Akaroa 6 points. United 4Eastern Kays 3. Little River 2i, Te Kotalntanga I. Akaroa have still Lo play Little River, but the result will not affect the position.
