OLD TYRE COVERS.
The uses for old tyre covers and the tubes are many. Old covers can be cut and nailed on to the garage door posts, so that, if by chance the running board or the hub caps touch a post, dents or splintered running boards will be prevented, besides avoiding damage to the door frame. Old tubes come in for many uses, and it is useful to carry a section of one in the tool kit. For instance, they can be cut up into small slices to make strong elastic bands, and for some cars a section of air tube makes an ideal cover to pre\*ent oil leaking up round the base of the gear lever.
