Group Executions.
FULL CASUALTY LIST NOT YET AVAILABLE. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyrigh t. (Received July 3, 2.5 p.m.) BERLIN, July 2. Group executions after summary court-martials continue and at least sixty have been shot at the former cadet school at Lichtenfeld, where the court-martial sits. A special code enables summary executions for which the proceedings are brief. The full casualty list is not available, but includes the ex-Crown Prince’s aide-de-camp. Kurt, who was a-Storm Troop leader, war-time air pilot and holder of the Order of the Pour le Merite. Hitler gave him a chance of committing suicide, which he refused. He and other victims, including Storm Troop Leaders Engels, Sanders, Hoffman and Kunze, seemed to regard suicide as tantamount to an admission of their guilt and preferred to face the firing squad.—“ Times ” cable.
