British Decision Excludes It From Homes.

Will the talking parrot vanish from the homes of England, where it has long been a cherished friend? asks the “ Daily Mail.”
It points out that the Ministry of Health, under a regulation imposed during the 1930 psittacosis outbreak, has now confiscated forty-one rare parrots, cockatooes, and parakeets imported privately from Australia. The importer has been given the choice of destroying them or presenting them to the Zoo.
The curator of the zoo told the “ Daily Mail ” that if the regulation is maintained, the talking parrot will soon become extinct, because it is not bred in England. The “ Daily Mail,” in a leading article entitled “ Poor Poll,” suggests the adoption of a quarantine system, otherwise life will become less picturesque and less amusing.
